Alien Guy Tim

Mockumentary. Alien Guy Tim is an outcast looking to prove that he has been abducted by aliens, but he encounters many obstacles along the way. It is written by/stars Patrick McElroy and directed/edited by Scott Simerly Jr. A few other people liked it, so I’ll let you read what they have to say as well:

"Composer Brian Crimmins deserves an extra special shout out for his beautiful, emotional and moving music, which seems an exact embodiment of what Tim is saying and feeling."
-Andy Harrison, Screencritix.com

"The music used here fits immaculately and preserves the perfect mood for the comedy-drama."

OFFF Vienna 2019 - Title Theme Music

The Celebrity and the Samurai

Documentary. The Celebrity and the Samurai looks at the backgrounds, careers, and personal lives of three-time Olympic gold medalists Saori Yoshida and Kaori Icho. This short documentary was produced by United World Wrestling and directed by Guillaume Caron, and released in anticipation of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

I recorded these songs with the close guidance of Guillaume in my studio, The Peach Pit. Rock ‘n Roll!

Chocolate Cake

Narrative Short. Chocolate Cake is Benjamin Shweky’s brilliant and beautiful adaptation of Michael Rosen's poem to the screen.

The score was created by honing a series of piano improvisations by Dan Hyde into the songs you hear in the film, with arrangement, production and mixing by me.

The Day The Sky Turned Blue

Narrative Short. Co-written and directed by Matthew Charof, The Day The Sky Turned Blue tells the story of a bitter old man who is struggling to stay in good standing with his wife when he finds something strange in a field near his home…

I started collaborating with Matthew on this film by writing ideas inspired by the script and some production stills. We added and subtracted until we ended up with a few short but meaningful cues.

Touching Is Teaching

Narrative Short. Twelve year old Edie has been hospitalized for months in the psychiatric ward of St. John's Hospital when Amy, a beautiful but complicated teenager, arrives. She becomes an unlikely role model and friend to Edie. Written and directed by Lydia Rui.

This was my first film score, and I was lucky to have such intense emotional content to work with. Fun fact: I recorded this in my apartment in Washington Heights!

I had the great pleasure of assisting composer T. Griffin from late 2013 until early 2017. For many of his projects during this time, I was present from initial spotting session to final mix.

This behind-the-scenes music department experience has shaped my sensibilities about what works - and what doesn’t - especially for documentary film. Please check out Todd’s IMDb and website to see and hear his amazing work.

Finger Music & Sound Design

Finger Studio.png

My first foray into the world of music and sound to picture was at Finger Music & Sound Design. They are a bustling, international organization of freelance composers, sound designers, and mixers specializing in commercial music. Finger Music addressed a wide range of needs for clients across such a range of genres: it was common to simultaneously be working on an indie “soundalike” track for one client, a cinematic electronic-orchestral track for another, and branded mnemonics and stings for a third.
